Ford’s 2027 F-150 pickup brings notable updates to the truck that’s been America’s best-selling for nearly five decades. Exterior Updates
Ford’s truck team wanted to bring a “more modernized look to a familiar face” as a result of feedback from the brand’s truck customers. The F-150 XLT, King Ranch and Platinum models have therefore been given newly designed grilles with more distinction and panache, plus new wheel offerings.

New BlueCruise with Towing
Ford has learned that more than 75 percent of its pickup truck buyers use their vehicle for towing, so has added a new BlueCruise driver-assist feature throughout the F-150 lineup to enhance towing ease and safety. The new technology comes at no additional cost and will be accessible on more than 130,000 miles of prequalified divided highways called “Blue Zones”; it can be used at speeds of up to 75 mph and with a limit of 10,000 pounds towing weight. The system will allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road and bring more “hands-free” confidence for towing boats, campers, and trailers, for instance.

When a customer uses the software to input their trailer, weight, and loading parameters, the system will actively monitor for trailer sway and provide continuous detection of weight and tire pressure. It will disengage the system should there be any parameters that are not within limits. It will not include lane change technology.
Now added to the 2027 models, the feature will be integrated as an update for customers who already have a subscription.
New F-150 Powertrain Update
A new standard 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine replaces the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, continuing with the same architecture and same peak capability, while the 3.0-liter brings enhanced peak pulling power and 10 to 11 percent more torque during daily driving.

The 5.0-liter V8 engine returns to King Ranch and Platinum for the first time since 2023, and it will be available across the entire F-150 lineup, from XL to Platinum.
The full 2027 powertrain lineup:
• 3.0-liter EcoBoost (new base engine)
• 5.0-liter V8 (400 hp / 410 lb-ft. torque) — King Ranch, Platinum
• 3.5-liter EcoBoost (500 lb-ft. torque, towing at 13,500 lbs)
• 3.5- liter PowerBoost™ Hybrid (570 lb-ft. torque, available 2.4kW, available 7.2 kW Pro Power Onboard)
Lowered Pricing for Entry-Level Tremor and Raptor Models
New is reduced pricing for the entry-level 2027 F-150 Tremor and 2027 Ford Raptor models that Ford says adds choices for buyers to de-content these trucks by removing some bells and whistles that a buyer might not want, but will keep the toughened off-road hardware.

Tremor has been designed to prioritize work- and recreation-ready off-road capability. The entry-level Tremor is STX-based, including an STX steering wheel, manual A/C instead of Dual Zone climate control, the removal of heated front seats, a 6-speaker audio system rather than the 8-speaker B&O setup, the deletion of off-road running boards, and fixed rear glass in place of the power sliding rear window.
The entry-level Raptor has been engineered to offer high-performance off-road prowess over creature comforts, removing the head-up display, fog lamps, 2kW Pro Power Onboard capability, Mobile Office package, power passenger seat, and under-seat storage, while swapping the power-adjustable steering column for a manual/tilt column and stepping down from 14-speaker B&O audio to an 8-speaker system.
Ford Brings Carhartt to the F-150 Stable

Ford and Carhartt have joined together for a multi-year relationship built on over 250 years of shared Detroit heritage. Following the introduction of the F-Series Super Duty Carhartt, Ford has added a Ford F-150 Carhartt trim on 4×4 XLT Crew Cab models, seeking to add a rugged aesthetic to the pickup; it comes with “work-ready bed protection”, as well as durable interior elements and exterior distinctions.

The co-branded truck has unique 20-inch wheels, with standout fender vents and badging that display the iconic Carhartt logo; it also wears a lower rocker panel and tailgate graphic. Signature headlamps and a cowl hood give the front end an aggressive, off-road-ready presence. The modified grille, dual exhaust, and off-road running boards blend performance-inspired styling with its workhorse capability. In the rear, a spray-in bedliner highlights the Carhartt brand.

Inside are two-toned Carhartt-themed seat covers crafted for tough jobs, alongside updated door trim panels, the center console lid, and a steering wheel featuring eye-appealing accent stitching that adds a premium feel, along with all-weather floor mats with the Carhartt logo. The 2027 Ford F-150 Carhartt is available for order now and will be available for delivery in early 2027.
